REAL WEDDINGS 41  and pendant.” The groom and groomsmen opted for blue suits with cravats and handkerchiefs that matched the bridesmaids’ gowns. “My maids opted for floor-length multi-way dresses from Marks & Spencer,” shares Gabrielle. “I spent ages researching different styles before finally making a decision. The design suited all the girls’ shapes, and everyone felt comfortable in them.” TIME TO CELEBRATE “Falcon Wedding Hire provided a beautiful car,“ Gabrielle adds. “Our guests enjoyed sitting in it and couldn’t stop talking about it the next day.” They also hired a harpist and DJ. “Our friends and family adored the performers,” says the bride. “The harp created a lovely atmosphere at our ceremony, and I remember one person telling me that our DJ was the best they’d ever seen!” In the evening, they played a game of Mr & Mrs. “This proved to be very successful,” recalls Gabrielle. “We had the best man and his fiancée come up with questions, and everyone laughed the whole way through.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS “I expected to feel anxious on the morning of the wedding,” reveals the bride. “Instead, I just felt excited and couldn’t wait to get there! The day was filled with so many emotions and went by so fast.” The couple visited the East Lancashire Railway after the ceremony. “The car journey was brilliant,” shares Gabrielle. “People were congratulating us and asking to take photos. It was lovely and made us feel even more special.” Gabrielle’s dad decided to entertain the guests by singing his speech. “He told me he was going to, but I thought he was joking,” says the bride. “It was hilarious, and everyone couldn’t stop laughing.” Their big day was made special by all of their loved ones. “My maid-of-honour and eldest sister, Kassandra, had a kidney transplant earlier in the week,” explains Gabrielle. “Although I was incredibly sad that she couldn’t be there, the registrars allowed her partner to live-stream the service. The whole family really pulled together to make her feel included.” HONEYMOON “For our honeymoon, we went to Morocco,” shares the bride. “We stayed in a five-star all-inclusive hotel for a few days. It was Chris’ first time abroad and on a plane! It was the most amazing holiday, and we couldn’t have wished for more.”
