FLOWERS 45 PLANNING SOS How to create your dream wedding PLANNED TO PERFECTION www.dashphotography.co.uk SNAP HAPPY Brendan from Dash Photography (www.dashphotography.co.uk) shares how to find the perfect photographer for your big day. Before booking, you need to be sure that your chosen photographer is experienced, able to handle the fast pace of a wedding day and is able to capture all of the key moments of your special day. An experienced wedding photographer knows exactly how a wedding day will unfold and is often able to predict and pre-empt capturing those emotional moments or the unplanned and spontaneous reactions. I recommend looking for a photographer who is able to offer the style of photograph that you like but who is also able to capture those timeless photographs that will stand the test of time and outlive the trends. Your wedding photographer should be able to meet your needs as a couple in terms of how much of the day you would like captured and how you want to receive your images. I believe the couple should be free to choose whether they want an album or just digital images. Don’t get me wrong; there is no comparison to viewing photos in print form in a luxurious and large wedding book, but this should be a choice that the couple makes, and they should not necessarily have to decide at the booking stage. As a professional full-time wedding photographer, it is very difficult to design a package as a ‘one size fits all’ so I believe that couples should be able to build a package to suit their dream wedding. I offer extra time, drone photography, twilight and engagement shoots as affordable extras, allowing my couples to get the wedding photography that suits their special day and give their day the coverage that it deserves. I put price last on purpose and while I do feel it is important to choose quality and experience over cost, I still believe in value for money. I recommend talking with your photographer and getting to know a little about how they work. Its not just about the photographer taking a few pictures on your special day but about the pre-planning, the venue visits, the pre-wedding meetings, the equipment, insurance and skill, and that is before they spend time with you on your wedding day. After the wedding, they will be editing hundreds of images, building slideshows, etc., so how quickly will you receive your photographs following the wedding day? These are all factors that are to be considered when looking at value for money. I like to think that I can offer wedding photography to suit most budgets. I don’t want to be the cheapest on the market, as that will affect the quality of my work, but I do want to offer an extremely high-quality service and ensure my couples receive their images within a couple of weeks of the wedding. www.dashphotography.co.uk Here at Your North East Wedding, we understand how overwhelming organising your nuptials can be.
