Your North East Wedding - March/April 2021 (Issue 43)

Ocean breeze O n a blustery morning in October, local suppliers got together to produce a stunning shoot to provide couples with plenty of inspiration for planning their wedding. Barn on the Bay provided a beautiful backdrop and has access to a range of outdoor spaces including the paddock leading into the confetti field, a rustic barn and a beautifully lit farmyard area next to the veranda – there’s also the venue’s very own stretch of beach! The suppliers settled on an autumnal beach theme with a copper colour scheme reflecting shades that can be found in weathered cliff faces or on sea- battered rocks. Ellen Davies at LND Events says, “After speaking to Alison who’s the owner of Barn on the Bay via Instagram, we joined forces with other local companies to show off the venue to potential customers and demonstrate what we could do for them as a team. “I’ve always had Melissa Beattie Photography in mind to capture the day, her fine art style was perfect for my vision. Melissa is a team player and not only produced timeless, romantic images but also helped assist behind the scenes.” The Trove brought the whole look together with draped tablecloths placed on a trestle table with dove-grey porcelain plates, antique cutlery, crystal glassware and white gauze napkins. The centrepieces consisted of shells and off-white/grey dinner candles surrounding incredible florals by Flori & Fern. Another Loop provided muscle shells with calligraphy on for place names as well as menus to match the tones used on the tables and romantic quotes written on wooden boards. The three-tiered cake by The Master Cakesmith looked outstanding with white icing, pearls and some shells which highlighted the theme perfectly. The model was given two looks on the day to capture the interior of the venue and the stunning beach where couples can have a ceremony if desired. Y.A.P. Bridal provided two gorgeous gowns; a Madi Lane Bridal Avery dress looked great inside the barn with beautiful make-up created using bronze/copper shades by MUBYLEIGH and modern-style jewellery by Sarah Vuong Bridal Jewellery. The second dress worn on the beach was an Evie Young Bridal Chance dress. The model’s hair was changed to an up do with a sweeping fringe, slightly bolder make-up and a change in jewelled pieces.
