Your North East Wedding - November/December 2020 (Issue 41)

Here at Your North East Wedding , we’ve compiled a list of simple steps to ensure you have the best day possible! LOVELY LAYOUT Try and avoid any small round tables and pick long trestle tables to allow all guests to communicate easily while social distancing. THE FINER DETAILS Lighting is important on a wedding day, to not only add atmosphere but to bring a venue to life. Think fairylights, light-up signs, lanterns and lightbulbs - experiment with colours to match your theme! SETTING THE TONE Have fun with the ceremony social distancing, perhaps opt for a semi-circle or spiral layout, you’ll be the centre of attention with guests all around watching the special moment from every angle. YOUR DAY, YOUR WAY Planning you guest list can be a difficult task, but it’s important to invite your nearest and dearest and not those who you feel pressured to invite. Stick to the six-month rule if you’re having trouble and rule out those who haven’t messaged or seen you in that space of time. Family and friends can also witness the ceremony virtually on somewhere like Zoom. SAY ‘I DO’ Make the day even more personal and have your nearest and dearest take part in readings during the ceremony, PARTY TIME! If you really want a big celebration but want to get married now, why not have a ceremony this year and a big reception the year after? You could have it on your one-year wedding anniversary. This way, everyone can be involved in the wedding. INTIMATE WEDDINGS 77
