Your North East Wedding - September/October 2020 (Issue 40)

LOVE IS IN THE HAIR I have thin hair and for my special day, I want it to look not only thicker but have more volume. How can I achieve this?  As a hair extensions specialist, if a bride requires thicker and more voluminous hair for her wedding day, then I usually recommend having hair extensions fitted for the big day. The biggest misconception about hair extensions is that they’re only used to achieve to luscious long locks. However, that’s wrong! Most of my clients use them to create thicker-looking hair, keeping their length or having it a tiny bit longer. If a bride specifically states she has fine hair that lacks volume and would like hair extensions to give her that oomph on her big day, then I always conduct a full consultation. Here we can make sure that we find the correct method of hair extension application that suits her needs to create her dream look. Through consultation, we can determine whether the bride would like her locks coloured. If the customer is worried about further weakening of the hair, extensions are the perfect alternative to achieve this without the need for colouring. All methods of extensions will give her fuller hair throughout her honeymoon, meaning she can have her dream style for longer with the correct aftercare, which will be discussed during the consultation. How can I achieve this? Blue eyes look amazing with the right make-up application. Blue is a cool tone and applying warm colours on your lids can make them pop! Think of browns, golds and autumnal shades. For a daytime look, I would suggest using light, warm chocolate shadows that are matte and blend this into the socket and under the eye. For an evening look, smoke it with deeper red-brown shades and even a touch of shimmer gold pigment on the lid, or in the corner of the eyes to add some drama. Brown liner looks amazing on blue eyes too, but always go for black mascara to finish off the look, as we want to see those lovely lashes. Don’t forget to pay attention to your eyebrows, as they add so much shape and definition to your face and eyes, start with coloured powder or pomade that matches your brow colour and blend naturally through your brow shape. Finish with a good brow mascara to define each hair creating thickness, and voila! Emily Emmett | Emily Emmett Make up Art www.emilyemmett.co.uk
