I wanted a very simple but elegant dress initially and I ended up choosing the opposite of what I originally had in mind after trying on a bigger dress and loving the feeling. I chose the gown after falling in love with the shoestring straps on the back, I had never seen one like that before, and it had pockets which I loved! I accessorised my look with a simple headpiece, a bracelet and earrings. I felt excited to see Neil and get the party going! I don’t really like being the centre of attention and I was nervous about the vows, but on the day, I felt fine and forgot everyone was there. Neil wore a three-piece suit from Master Debonair, blue trousers and a waistcoat with a blue tweed jacket. My two brothers and the best man wore the same but with a navy jacket and tweed waistcoat. The bridesmaids wore sage A-line dresses with white block heel shoes and fresh flowers in their hair. To keep guests entertained, we had a singer from Australia who was home for a few months visiting (we used to watch him in pubs when we were younger), everyone loved him and the style of music played.
