Your North East Wedding - July/August 2020 (Issue 39)

We went for dark colours for my bouquet and buttonholes as we wanted them to feel wintery. The bridesmaids’ flowers were quite simple with white gypsophila. The bridesmaids wore navy flowery dresses, which made their white flowers stand out. As part of our package, the venue included a range of centrepieces to pick. We picked a white birdcage with flowers and a candle inside and was sat on a tree stump, which kept in line with the rustic feel we were trying to pull off. We both love a good drink, so I decided to make each table number a bottle brand instead, Above the Clouds did a fantastic job designing each bottle. Our place names matched the invitations with names and meal options on for each guest. For favours, we had mini bottles of South Causey’s very own ‘Big Eddy’s Gin’ from the venue’s on-site brewery – the bottles are named after the owner’s dogs who you can see on the website. We love the rustic feel the Old Barn gives you and how the ceremony room gives a ‘chapel’ feel. We visit South Causey Inn a lot for its amazing food and night stays, so we knew this was the place for us and didn’t even bother to look at any other venues – we thought it would be a nice touch to get married there. 28
