As the groom’s family are Scottish, Matt and the best man wore a kilt called the Grey Spirit and Laura’s dad and uncle wore a Gordon- style one. The bridesmaids all looked beautiful in navy dresses with cream lace detail around the waist while the flowergirls wore white ones with a navy ribbon sash to match the colour scheme. TIME TO CELEBRATE A massive hit with guests were the outside games which kept everyone entertained throughout the day. To keep the party going, guests helped choose a playlist before the evening, which a DJ played on the night. MEMORABLE MOMENTS Laura and Matthew’s day was full of so many memorable moments. Laura says, “I had the most relaxing morning, which started with a walk on the beach at sunrise with my mum and uncle. I was surrounded by the people who meant most to me and received beautiful sentimental gifts. It wasn’t until I stepped into my dress that the nerves started.” Matt was excited from the moment he woke up and before he got to the church, the nerves kicked in, with Laura’s late arrival adding to them! Matt says: “On the day, Laura stood out the most for me, especially when I saw her and her dad coming down the aisle.” For Laura, the moment that stood out was seeing her dad. She says: “His face was both emotional and memorable, he looked so proud to be wearing a kilt and I’ve honestly never seen the way he looked at me before. Another moment was when we turned up at our reception, walking into the garden and seeing everything set up – I’ll never forget how amazing our wedding looked!” A moment that took Laura by surprise was hearing her dad’s speech, she was expecting it to be a funny one but was so surprised at how heartfelt it was, a beautiful moment shared with their nearest and dearest. After such a lovely speech, it was time for Matt’s, and he didn’t disappoint! He says, “Before the poem bit of my speech, I couldn’t read it because I was that nervous. I messed up the first parts quite a bit, but I was okay by the time I got to the poem. Laura made the day special for me, I just felt so lucky to be there with her, and she looked amazing.” Their whole wedding day was extremely personal with the help of their family and Laura’s aunty who helped organise everything, from the moment the pair got engaged to the moment they said ‘I do’. Laura says: “Without my aunty Jane (Birdcages and Dragonflies) we certainly wouldn’t have had the perfect wedding. She organised everything, helped us choose our reception, dress it, and created the most personal touches to the point it looked picture perfect on the day. From the day we got engaged, she was there helping and planning it all, reassuring us and going above and beyond. The
