Your North East Wedding - May/June 2020 (Issue 38)

PICTURE PERFECT I’m really shy when it comes to my photo being taken and on our wedding day, I don’t want this to get in the way of capturing lovely natural images. How can I get around this? Rather than fight against it, shyness can be a wonderful attribute from a wedding photographer’s perspective. Our top tips are to take up the offer of a pre-wedding shoot. We include this in all our packages as we believe it helps to develop a rapport with our brides and grooms. Having an understanding of likes and dislikes is as equally important to gauge how a person reacts in front of a camera. The very best photographers know how to capture the essence of the person, whilst making them look elegant, stylish and sophisticated. That said, our style tends to lean on the side of fun, laughter and happiness rather than serious and moody, so we’ll offer direction but include humour and jokes as part of it. We will talk about holidays, first dates, favourite songs, best memories and lots more.  Shyness is an attribute and part of a person’s character; the best wedding photographers know this and incorporate it into their work. Celebrants are a secret society of creative problem solvers, empowering you to have an unbelievable wedding – the pros to having one is the freedom you’ll have. Choose where, when and how to have your wedding ceremony in a way that feels genuine to you. A friendship is built from our very first meeting to understand your theme and then I’ll guide you through the process of creating an epic ceremony. How to blend the traditional with modern twists, how to tell your story and how to captivate friends and family. Together we can rip up the rule book and start a fresh chapter that’s all about you. Who wants to be the same as everyone else anyway? You’re fully involved in the process of creating your ceremony; it’s a collaboration of sharing ideas to create something authentic and meaningful to you both. If you want to have your ceremony at home, you can have it, if you want a chilled ceremony that won’t bore your guests, you can have it. From symbolic rituals to helping you choose the best songs for loved ones to sing-along too, I’ll be your resource for an extraordinary ceremony. Lisa Wilson | Lisa Wilson Celebrant | www.lisawilsoncelebrant.com  ARRIVE IN STYLE For our wedding day, we’re looking to hire three wedding cars, who should travel together and what cars would you suggest for each? We’d suggest that the bride and the father-of-the-bride travel in Winston, our fully restored Land Rover Series 1 from 1950 – a quintessential, British, country beauty! Depending on numbers, the bridesmaids could travel in either our vintage Bedford Bus or Vera, which is a beautiful cream Land Rover Series 3.  Then the groom and his groomsmen can travel in the stunning Twisted® Defender 110 as a chauffeured option. Or if they would prefer to drive themselves, we have a range of Land Rover Defenders available to accommodate this.  Tom and Sophie Waters | Yorkshire Vehicle Hire www.yorkshirevehiclehire.co.uk www.dan nybirrellphotography.co.uk https://sam sparksweddings.co.uk 74
