Your Midlands Wedding - August/September 2025 (Issue 99)

Our bridesmaids picked their dresses in their assigned colours, and they complemented each other beautifully. My two younger brothers chose stone suits from Next that worked perfectly with the pastels. The flowergirls wore ivory dresses from Lipsy, and my page boy wore beige trousers with suspenders and a matching bowtie. The day was such a blur, but I was completely overwhelmed by how much I love Cory. After the ceremony, the registrar told us he’d rarely met couples so obviously in love, and that he believed we’d have a long and happy marriage. I couldn’t stop smiling in the photos, we were holding each other’s hands so tightly! We used a gold leaner mirror for the table plan, with cards attached using wax melts. I added a decal that read, “First we dine, then we dance,” and now keep the mirror in my dressing room at home. The grounds at Hodsock Priory were stunning, the rooms beautiful, and the staff incredible. Nothing was too much to ask, and the whole day ran like a dream. I had a vision of a tiered Lambeth-style cake with pastel accents and a modern twist. After searching, I found Sobia at Delicious Bakez on Instagram. The only catch was she was based in Birmingham! We had a very tense drive the day before the wedding with the cake in the footwell, but Hodsock kindly stored it overnight and it arrived in one piece. REAL WEDDINGS 31
