A PASTEL DREAM Childhood ties, a Santorini proposal and a joyful celebration full of colour and meaning brought Jennie and Cory’s love story to life Images courtesy of Little Posy Photography Cory’s mum was best friends with Jennie’s aunt, who has sadly passed away, while the pair were growing up. As a result, Cory and Jennie always knew of each other and even went to the same secondary school. They reconnected years later after bumping into each other at a pub, then began chatting regularly after adding each other on Instagram – but the timing wasn’t quite right. Fast forward a few years and Jennie, newly single, decided to bite the bullet. She sent Cory a message saying, “When are you going to take me on this date then?” and the rest is history! The bride described Cory as someone who finds the fun in everything but is also incredibly kind and generous. “We’re silly with each other every day, but we also try hard not to take each other for granted,” she says. Cory shares, “Jennie is wonderfully silly, full of incredibly endearing but meaningless outbursts. Her warmth made me feel at ease from day one, which allowed our relationship to flourish. There’s nobody I’d rather be locked in a room with, and not just because I could look at her topaz blue eyes all day, every day.” Cory proposed in Santorini in September 2022 at the Sunset Taverna in Ammoudi Bay. He had arranged a catamaran trip with food and drinks, intending to propose at sunset. Unfortunately, Jennie became seasick the moment they stepped onboard. He ended up proposing at dinner instead. The restaurant erupted in applause, and Champagne was sent to their table. Jennie later said, “It wasn’t exactly a secret... the only surprises we’ve ever managed to keep from each other are my engagement ring and my wedding dress. I loved that we could be excited together. He was still nervous, and I was still overwhelmed with happiness – when it’s right, it’s right.” Here, the bride shares details about their special day... 29 REAL WEDDINGS
