Your Midlands Wedding - December/January 2025/2026 (Issue 101)

The couple’s rustic mocha, pink and grey colour scheme was reflected beautifully in every detail. Centrepieces featured charming white birdcages filled with delicate white flowers, adding a soft, romantic touch to each table. Every guest received a white jarred candle favour, personalised with the couple’s names and wedding date. The handmade table plan matched the invitations and order-of-service, bringing a beautifully cohesive look to the day. All the floral arrangements were lovingly created by Sophie’s mum using faux blooms, accented with real corn stalks and dainty purple flowers. These touches carried through to the top table décor, tying everything together perfectly. The cake was decorated with matching flowers and offered three delicious flavours of vanilla, lemon and almond. It sat on a stand handcrafted by Chris from a tree stump, topped with a glass plate. The West Retford Hotel provided the catering, serving a traditional roast dinner for the wedding breakfast and a buffet for the evening guests, rounding off a day filled with heartfelt details. LOOKING THE PART Sophie wore a gown from The Bridal Closet, designed by Allure. She says, “I was looking at the dresses, trying on a few, but couldn’t find the one. The owner, Katy, asked if she could show me one gown, which ended up being the dress I’d been looking for!” On the day of the wedding, Chris surprised his bride with jewellery, a Swarovski Una Angelic Round Cut Pavé set. “He knows how much I love bling,” Sophie adds. “My finished look was what I had imagined when I was a little girl.” Chris wore a Cavani suit called Kaiser, matching their son, while the rest of the wedding party wore navy suits by Skopes. TIME TO CELEBRATE Guests were entertained by a violinist during the day, followed by a photo booth and a DJ in the evening. It was a simple, relaxed celebration that kept guests smiling and celebrating. “All the guests enjoyed the entertainment, especially the violinist,” says the bride. “We had a lot of guests say it was lovely and set the romantic tone for the day.” Both Sophie and Chris felt over the moon to see their vision come to life. “Seeing all our family together having a good time was so special,” Sophie says. “You could feel the love in the room; it’s something we’ll never forget.” REAL WEDDINGS 45
