DREAMS Pastel Molly and Jack had a relaxed, vintage-inspired day filled with pastels, personal touches and playful charm Images courtesy of Natalie Jayne Photography Jack proposed to Molly while they were on their first holiday together in Los Angeles. It was the final full day of their trip, and the couple had gone to an Italian restaurant with all their friends to celebrate. At the end of the meal, Jack popped the question! “It was such a special moment,” Molly recalls. “I had no idea it was coming, and it made an already amazing trip completely unforgettable.” SETTING THE SCENE Molly and Jack’s top priority was creating a day that felt uniquely theirs with fun and relaxed moments. The Folly at The Farmhouse at Mackworth in Derby proved the perfect fit as it was intimate, customisable and ideal for bringing their creative vision to life. They styled the spaces with vintage-inspired, personalised touches. For favours, each guest received a customised matchbox reading “The perfect match,” complete with the couple’s names and wedding date. Their table plan was a standout feature, using vintage plates sourced from charity shops, each one labelled with a guest’s name and displayed beneath a fabric sign that read, “At every table, I’ll save you a seat.” Centrepieces paired green dinner candles in vintage holders with tea lights and gold horseshoes, a sweet nod to Molly’s love of horses. Flowers were a defining part of their aesthetic. Pastel wildflowers, including peonies, delphiniums and roses, created an English country garden feel. Floral meadows lined the ceremony aisle, complemented by a top-table arrangement and mini displays on each table. The cake brought a charming touch of nostalgia to the day, with its two-tier Lambeth-style design in cream and pastel blue, finished with glacé cherries on top. “It felt fun and matched everything perfectly,” Molly says. Additional décor brought personality and playfulness to the spaces with a pastel balloon arc, a neon sign, a mirror reading “You look incredible, now go grab a drink,” and napkins printed with an illustration of their dog. To keep guests from going hungry, the venue served a comforting, crowd-pleasing menu of leek and potato soup, steak and ale pie and sticky toffee pudding, with stone-baked pizzas later in the evening. LOOKING THE PART Molly wore the Dita gown by Eva Lendel, a fully beaded dress with delicate floral and pearl detailing and off-the-shoulder sleeves. “It just felt different from everything else,” the bride says. “Not your usual lace or satin, but it had this glamorous, sparkly look that I loved.” She accessorised with a glitter tulle veil and a set of Vivienne Westwood pearl earrings and a matching necklace. When Molly saw herself fully ready, she was overwhelmed, as it was the best she had felt! Jack wore a sage green threepiece tweed suit, making him stand out from the rest of the wedding party, who wore matching stone-coloured suits. TIME TO CELEBRATE Rather than hiring performers, Molly and Jack chose to entertain guests with personalised outdoor games, including wedding-themed mini golf, a nod to Jack’s passion for golf and cornhole — a game they’d played with friends during their LA trip. “It gave guests something fun to do during the drinks reception and in between the day’s events,” Molly comments. “It was relaxed and a great way to get people mingling!” The couple spent the day beaming. Once the initial nerves of the ceremony faded, they were completely caught up in the joy of the occasion. Molly says, “It was the most fun day, and seeing guests enjoying the little details made us feel so proud.” One of their standout memories was dancing the night away with loved ones. Molly recalls, “It’s rare to have all your favourite people in one place and we didn’t take that for granted.” The couple’s photographers, Nat and Carl, as well as Paige and Abi from the Farmhouse, made a big impact on the day, especially when things took an unexpected turn. “I actually fainted during our photos,” Molly shared. “But they were all incredible. They brought me a brownie and a fizzy drink, and made me feel completely at ease. We laughed it off, and they even rearranged our schedule so I could take a break. They genuinely went above and beyond.” REAL WEDDINGS 37
