Peaks, pillows and perfect views Editor Olivia Gibson discovers what makes Losehill House Hotel & Spa a must-visit destination Situated in the UK’s oldest National Park, The Peak District, Losehill House Hotel & Spa is a hidden gem surrounded by rolling hills. I was thrilled to be invited to review the setting and facilities, to discover what makes this Hotel extra special. FIRST IMPRESSIONS Tucked along a quiet country lane in the Hope Valley, the property feels peaceful and exclusive, with well-kept grounds and lovely views of Win Hill and the surrounding countryside. Inside, the décor blends classic country charm with modern comfort with warm woods, soft lighting and calm, considered details. SLEEPING IN STYLE With 18 bedrooms and four suites, the Hotel maintains an intimate and personal feel for all visitors. We had the privilege of staying in a Deluxe Room, offering the ultimate comfort with a king-sized bed dressed in superior linens, duvets and pillows that wrapped us in luxury. The en-suite had both a separate bath and shower for the best of both worlds, stocked with exclusive toiletries. Other useful touches included a tea and coffeemaking facility, a flat-screen TV plus robes and flip-flops for the spa. It had everything needed for a memorable stay, and don’t get me started on the views! SPECTACULAR SPA Hotel guests enjoy complimentary use of the spa, with time slots booked on arrival. We opted for an early morning session for a relaxed and cosy start to our day. The indoor heated pool is wonderfully tranquil, perfect for swimming a few lengths before slipping into the outdoor hot tub and enjoying the sauna while taking in the panoramic views. Guests can also enhance their experience by booking massages, facials and body treatments. The spa feels like a true retreat that leaves you feeling completely rejuvenated. DINING DELIGHTS The Grafene Restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience, with a strong focus on flavour, presentation and thoughtful detail – earning it a double AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence. After canapés in the lounge, we moved to the restaurant, where soft lighting and stylish décor created a warm, refined yet welcoming atmosphere. The Duck Liver Parfait was a highlight, served with toasted brioche, followed by perfectly cooked Wild Seabass with Jersey Royals, Romanesco, sea herbs and a shrimp and caper butter sauce. For dessert, the spiced carrot cake with walnuts, a pecan crumb and an orange– carrot sorbet was the ideal finish. It was a memorable meal, thanks to the beautiful setting, attentive staff and standout flavours. TYING THE KNOT Losehill House is a spectacular setting for weddings. The team closes the Hotel for 24 hours for exclusive use, including bed and breakfast for up to 50 guests across 22 bedrooms. Couples can marry in the beautiful Orangery or Grafene Restaurant, enjoy a drinks reception on the lawns, then sit down to a wedding breakfast for around 80 in the Orangery. Evening celebrations can accommodate 120 guests across the lounge, bar and Orangery. The next morning, relax in the spa before a freshly prepared breakfast. FINAL THOUGHTS Our stay at Losehill House Hotel & Spa was nothing short of exceptional. Every moment was elevated by either the setting or the staff, who ensured we had everything needed for a wonderful time!
