80 13 Calling grooms-to-be, check out this suit inspired by Pantone’s Colour of The Year, Peach Fuzz. Win a honeymoon in the Maldives worth £3,000! We’ve teamed up with Ribbon & Rose Event Styling to offer you an exclusive 10 per cent discount off a full décor package for weddings or events. With spring approaching, we’re excited to embrace this beautiful season and see what couples have up their sleeves. The weather can be unpredictable, so it’s always essential to devise a wet-weather plan to relax, knowing you’ve covered all your bases in the run-up to your wedding – especially for those opting for al fresco celebrations. The seasonal availability of flowers offers an excellent choice for the time of year; think daffodils, tulips, hyacinth, crocus and Lily of the Valley. It’s an excellent opportunity to embrace a colourful and bold colour scheme using nature’s palette. Who doesn’t like abundant flowers from bouquets, gorgeous arrangements and installations? Remember, you can move your florals throughout the day to ensure a picture-perfect backdrop for the vows, wedding breakfast and reception while staying on budget. Floral arches are my personal favourite! Expect Pantone’s Colour of The Year, Peach Fuzz, to grace the wedding industry. The compassionate and nurturing soft peach shade conveying heartfelt kindness will surely become a huge movement we’re so excited to see. Another popular trend making a statement is champagne towers that add a touch of fun to weddings while serving guests a glass of bubbly. If you’re at the start of your planning journey, you’ve come to the right place because we cover everything from fashion, beauty, cakes, venues and more. When searching for a property, I advise seeing if any of your shortlisted properties are hosting wedding shows, as spring is a popular time for these events. It allows you to look around the spaces, meet local suppliers, discuss your big day and ask plenty of questions. For those creeping closer to your special day, we have plenty of last-minute tips and tricks to ensure a stress-free wedding and the perfect finishing touches for that extra wow factor. So, no matter where you’re at with wedding planning, there’s something for everyone. That’s all from me; happy planning! OLIVIA GIBSON REVIEWS AIRE ANCIENT BATHS LONDON I’m always looking for the best spots around London without the large crowds to achieve that five-class service away from the busy streets. So, you can imagine my excitement when the AIRE Ancient Baths London team invited me to the secluded setting on the edge of Covert Garden and Leicester Square. AIRE Ancient Baths began in Seville in 2004 before expanding to Barcelona, New York, London, Chicago, Copenhagen, Vallromanes and Almeria to provide serene settings to escape the outside world. The London site is based in an 18th-century townhouse initially designed by Architect Robert Adam. It offers an exceptional example of Neoclassical construction which, much like AIRE, took great inspiration from the Greek and Roman empires. As I stepped inside the historic building, I was greeted by the scent of orange blossom and the friendly team who welcomed me to this sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the City. After filling out a short medical questionnaire, I headed downstairs to find a modern changing room with all the necessities needed. Inside our lockers were bathrobes, towels, and comfortable slip-on water shoes to be worn throughout the spaces as well as the baths. As we wandered down candle-lit stairs, we emerged into the softly lit main area with a relaxing atmosphere highlighted by the calming music and the sound of water. The rustic space features exposed brickwork, a labyrinth of pools, brown leather Chesterfield sofas and wooden accents. After being given a tour of the different baths, it was time to put the spaces to the test! We started with the Tepidarium, a warm water bath at 36 degrees with hidden knocks and crannies to relax and soak up the tranquil environment. Next was the hot 40-degree Caldarium before building up the courage to enter the Frigidarium’s cold-water bath at 14 degrees and the ice bath at 10 degrees – it’s safe to say I didn’t last very long! My favourite space was the Floatarium, a unique bath with a high salt content, which allowed me to float effortlessly. I’ve never felt so at peace and free, like there wasn’t a worry in the world, and I could have genuinely spent hours staring at the beautiful ceiling. The space was complete with a salt exfoliation area, which left my skin silky smooth for days! Let’s not forget The Vaporium, a steam room infused with mint and eucalyptus that helps promote circulation, loosens stiff joints, reduces stress, clears congestion and more. My partner’s favourite spot was the Bath of a Thousand Jets, a hydrotherapy jet bath that gave our whole body a massage while relieving aches and pains. The friendly team were always around to help guide us through the spaces while blending into the background to ensure we achieved the perfect experience from start to finish – it was really impressive – and they provided dry robes when needed. Halfway through the experience, I enjoyed a 45-minute full-body massage from head to toe. I felt completely at ease with my masseuse, who was highly professional and ensured I was comfortable throughout. Thanks to the combination of music, dimmed lighting and skilful hands, I entered a complete state of relaxation and may or may not have dozed off a few times! I had a fantastic experience at AIRE Ancient Baths London thanks to the knowledgeable team, exceptional facilities and tranquil setting. The site is perfect for romantic pre-wedding pampering, escaping the stress of wedding planning, and enjoying special moments with loved ones before the big day – I will definitely be returning! HIGH Flying Trish and Tom’s gorgeous wedding featured earthy tones and personal touches Images courtesy of Sophie Barloc 32

These lovebirds first met after Trish came into the restaurant Tom managed in the City of London and asked to use the toilet. She was on one of her work trips to London and had been on a run. Her hotel was at the top of the street, but she didn’t think she’d be able to make it back in time! Tom comments, “I thought Trish was stunning as soon as I saw her. In a clumsy attempt at flirting, I jokingly told her the toilet was for customers only, so she bought a glass of wine and sat outside. It just so happened that one of the restaurant owners was in that night, and she got talking to Trish outside. Eventually, I managed to join them when the restaurant had slowed down at the end of the night, to see they had joined tables and seemed like old friends. Trish was clever, funny and interesting! “When she got up to leave, I wanted to ask her for her telephone number, but my courage failed me. I thought that would be the last time I ever saw her, and I was surprised by how disappointed that made me feel. So, when she returned for dinner on her next trip to London, I didn’t make the same mistake! I remembered her name and that she was going on a work trip to Las Vegas once she returned from London. I asked her how that had gone and other things we’d discussed. I think that impressed Trish and we went out a couple of times after that before she went home. From that moment, we’d spend time together whenever she came to London, and I regularly visited her in New York.” Tom surprised Trish by proposing to her on Christmas Eve 2022 at her apartment with his grandmother’s engagement ring. He had initially planned to do it on Christmas morning, but the mixture of nerves and excitement got the better of him. He comments, “I’d asked for her family’s blessing the previous month in a secret meeting when I was over for Thanksgiving, so everyone knew of my plans! Thankfully, Trish said ‘yes’!” SETTING THE SCENE The main goal was for their wedding to be fun, surrounded by loved ones! The lovebirds felt honoured to receive such a big RSVP turnout despite the short notice and the distance for some, so they wanted to ensure it was just a day of celebrating. Trish says, “We always made a point to ensure we were truly present during the wedding day. We even opted not to have any alone time carved out with the photographer for fear of missing time with our guests as the goal was to celebrate with the people we love.” When Tom discovered Brown & Green Life in Crystal Palace Park was licensed to host wedding ceremonies, he immediately booked a viewing of their event space and knew it was the perfect setting. “I could imagine our wedding there, and one of the chain owners, Laura, was so helpful and happy for us to do whatever we wanted with the space,” Tom comments. “When Trish was over for a visit, I showed her the setting in person as she’d only seen it in photos, videos and video calls – she felt the same as I did! Crystal Palace Park is a special place to me, having grown up not too far away in Croydon. It was somewhere my parents had taken my sister and me regularly, so I have many fond memories there.” The newlyweds chose Westow House Pub & Hotel for the reception for a few reasons: its proximity to Brown & Green, the fact that it had accommodation, and mainly because they loved the spaces! The team was excellent from day one; they helped in any way they could and were happy for the couple to make the firstfloor bar their own. The couple hired a vintage car from Shirley Chauffeurs to take Trish, her parents and her sister (the maid-of-honour) to the ceremony. They also rented an old Routemaster double-decker bus to transport everyone from between venues with a detour on the way past Selhurst Park – the home of Crystal Palace FC, as Tom is a huge fan. This was special for the groom and his mum, especially as Tom’s grandfather drove Routemaster buses for 30 years after the end of World War II. The couple enjoyed this ride after the ceremony, hanging out with guests, drinking Champagne and singing the whole way! Since their relationship had been transatlantic and long-distance, with lots of time spent on planes and in airports, they thought luggage tags as favours would be meaningful and useful to guests. Their dear friend Jessica Starks is amazing at crafting, and personalised each luggage tag with guests’ initials to double up as 33 REAL WEDDINGS
