SUMMER LOVIN’ What’s your favourite summery beauty look? During summer, it’s good to have a fresh look. Pastel and pale gold eyeshadows look great on all skin tones, and eyes can be enhanced with individual or strip lashes or lash extensions. A natural-coloured lip with a hint of pink always looks good in photos; choose a lip colour with a satin finish to give it a timeless look. Add a touch of bronzer and highlighter for a sun-kissed glow, and I love a dewy foundation for its flawless and ageless look. How can you keep skin looking its best in the warmer months? Prepare for your wedding by getting into a good skincare routine, and increase the steps by adding in hydrating serums, eye cream, weekly exfoliation and masks. When your skin is hydrated, your make-up will last all day. Dry skin benefits from oil and water-based serums, while oilier skins benefit from water-based essences under your moisturiser. All skin types need moisturiser and a good SPF30 as a minimum. Treat yourself to a course of professional skincare treatments in the run up to your summer wedding, but don’t try any new products in the month before. What’s your favourite product for summer weddings? It has to be Makeup Atelier Paris’ gel liner. I love it because it’s highly pigmented, comes in lots of colours and it’s waterproof. It doesn’t smudge in the heat or if a bride becomes tearful – it’s a must-have in my kit. Joyce Connor | Joyce Connor Makeup https://joyceconnormakeup.co.uk THE HEAT IS ON What’s your favourite summery beauty look? Dewy and barely-there is my favourite look for a summer wedding – soft, natural and gorgeous! It’s your make-up artist’s job to help you look like the most beautiful version of yourself. The make-up should be natural, but with enough coverage so that you look just as amazing in your photos. How can you keep skin looking its best in the warmer months? There isn’t a one-size-fits-all fix for your hair and skin – we’re all different. However, I’d recommend a really good sunscreen daily in the build up to your wedding to help skin stay hydrated and protected. If you have any signs of pigmentation developing, then this is essential. Keep your hair in tip-top condition in the lead-up to your big day by switching to a moisturising shampoo and conditioner. If you can’t avoid using tongs or straighteners, then make sure you always use a good heat protector. I love Silhouette Styling & Care Lotion by Schwarzkopf; it’s lightweight yet powerful, works on all hair types and leaves a fabulous gloss on the hair. What are your favourite products for summer weddings? ❤ MAC Mineralize Skinfinish gives a soft, natural glow, but always apply highlighter strategically. You can easily tip from looking dewy to sweaty! ❤ cosmetics à la carte Matte Miracle is a must for brides with oily skin. Avoid reflective foundations and primers and opt to keep the shine at bay with this brilliant product. ❤ Carmex Lip Balm is great for balancing your favourite matte lipstick with your gorgeous dewy make-up. Pop a tiny dot of lip balm on top of your lipstick to get your lips looking gorgeous and feeling hydrated.
