Your London Wedding - March/April 2021 (Issue 76)

We wanted both our bridesmaids to feel comfortable, so we let them choose what they wanted to wear, as long as they complemented each other. India chose a classic Vera Wang number in dark merlot, while Ru went with a baby pink David’s Bridal strappy dress. Ru rounded the look off with a pair of diamanté trainers that looked the business!! Charlotte wore a fabulous flowing gown by Oleg Cassini, with an elegant sparkly top and cascading skirt, which made her look like she was floating on a cloud. As she walked to the venue, a little girl stopped her and asked if she was a princess and if she could have her photo taken with her. Yes, she looked that good! Special mention has to go to Jess Dumas, the venue’s event booker and effectively our wedding planner. Without her, it wouldn’t have happened. Throughout all the changes we had to make because of the pandemic, Jess was always there with a solution and her presence made the whole experience joyous. Thanks also to our photographer, Rafe Abrook. He is an artist; he made us look like movie stars. I went with a bespoke creation from Hackett on Savile Row – a simple two-piece Italian-style suit in dark brown with a warm claret lining. James Craig at Hackett was brilliant and guided me through the whole process. I finished it off with a gorgeous pair of black suede boots from Jeffery West. The groomsmen rocked classic navy Ted Baker suits. Our incredible menu was created by the venue and its amazing head chef Erion Karaj. Everyone commented on how great the food was, and the staff are truly amazing. Our guests sat at tables named after our favourite Soho bars: Copita, Chotto Matte and Dog & Duck. REAL WEDDINGS 43
