Your London Wedding - January/February 2021 (Issue 75)

It was such a special day because n o one had seen each other for so lon g during lockdown. I think it was ev eryone’s first day out in a social setting for around six months! Ove rall, it was epic and felt quite surre al. The Mandrake Hotel’s YOPO restaurant provided a delic ious selection of tapas-style food and drink. We focused on South Amer ican flavours and a range of cocktails. After our engagement, we went on a mission to find the most beautiful cake in the world – and I believe we succeeded! The lovely Marianna from Whisk & Drizzle not only bakes extremely artistic creations, but they also taste magical. We had to downsize due to COVID regulat ions; what was intended to be a standing receptio n, had to become a last-minute seated arrangemen t of small groups. Unfortunately all our favours were stuck in Cape Town. It’s uncertain when we’ll be able to return there, but we will make sure the favours find a good home at our second we dding post-lockdown. 38
