Your London Wedding - Jan/Feb 2020 (Issue 69)

REAL WEDDINGS 47  incredible, we walked along the river to the reception. The Garden Museum is like an oasis; despite being in central London, it really feels like a country garden,” says Fiona. And talking of outfits, Adam wore a light three-piece suit from French Connection for the ceremony before, as above, changing into a more formal velvet DJ from Moss Bros for the evening do. Fiona opted for a dress by London designer Halfpenny, accessorised with a Shrimps bag and Nicholas Kirkwood shoes. “I wanted my dress to be simple and chic, nothing too fussy,” she reveals. IN THE COUNTRY In keeping with their ‘bringing the countryside to the city’ vibe, the couple chose wild flowers in shades of white, cream and pink for their centrepieces, arranged in bud vases. Festoon lights were strung across the nave to create a convivial atmosphere as guests dined on a selection of antipasti, served on sharing boards, and lasagne. For dessert, the couple served their cake, a rather fabulous lemon cake in the shape of their initials made by The Meringue Girls and dotted with the confection the London bakery is famed for. “I was determined to work with brands that I love from London; from my dress, shoes and bag to the cake and décor, I really wanted to showcase these small independent businesses,” Fiona explains.
