V&A display by the window that lit up the dancefloor, enhancing the festive atmosphere. The flowers, sourced from Bubble and Berry, were colourful dried blooms, with orange as the main theme. Vicky wanted dried flowers so she and her bridesmaids could preserve their bouquets as cherished keepsakes. For catering, The Depot kept things simple with delicious pie and mash. Instead of a traditional cake, the pair opted for 250 Krispy Kreme doughnuts adorned with a personalised orange disco cake topper. These, of course, were a massive hit among the guests! Vicky’s family friend, a cab driver, drove them to the venue in a white London cab decorated with an orange ribbon, making the experience feel even more special. Lastly, the pair found a talented lady on Etsy who created personalised large felt signs with fringed edges. They commissioned a big, colourful ‘Vicky & Alex’ sign for the venue’s fence, adding an extra cool touch to their celebration. LOOKING THE PART Vicky chose a stunning dress called Adore by Justin Alexander. She was looking for something lacy, but not overly detailed in the front, and it was important to her that the dress flattered her curvier figure. To complete her look, she accessorised with dried flowers in her hair, heart-shaped pearl earrings and a lovely gold heart bracelet. She felt absolutely radiant, and everything came together perfectly! Alex and the groomsmen all wore navy suits paired with colourful floral shirts from Hawes & Curtis that really made them stand out. The bridesmaids were a lovely sight, wearing different satin orange dresses, with one even opting for a stylish jumpsuit. The whole ensemble created a beautiful and harmonious look for the special day! TIME TO CELEBRATE The couple had a saxophonist at their celebration, and he was an absolute hit! They also set up a photo booth that everyone seemed to adore. At first, the lovebirds both felt quite nervous, especially when the photographer arrived, but that nervousness quickly gave way to giggles during their ceremony. Vicky’s aunt, a celebrant, added an extra touch of warmth and familiarity, making it even more special. The speeches were brilliant; everyone truly shone. They were filled with emotion and laughter, with hilarious stories that had everyone in stitches. What really made the day unforgettable was the presence of the couple’s friends, many of whom they had lived with during their time in Melbourne. Loved ones had traveled from all corners of the globe–Australia, America, New Zealand and Mexico–to be there. It felt magical to see everyone again, knowing they had journeyed so far just for their special day. HONEYMOON The newlyweds spent a few beautiful days in Porto after their wedding, soaking in the laid-back atmosphere where they could relax, eat, drink and unwind. One of the highlights was a visit to the Douro Valley, where they learned about Porto’s rich history and indulged in some delicious wine. They felt fortunate to have experienced this mini-moon but were also looking forward to their upcoming honeymoon. The couple had always wanted to attend Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and they were thrilled to check it off their bucket list. Their itinerary also included stops in Austin, Memphis, Nashville and Orlando! REAL WEDDINGS 31
