Elizabeth says: Beautiful make-up starts with flawless skin, but the choice of foundations is head spinning! So, where to begin? Firstly, establish your skin type - is it normal, dry, oily or combination? Next, what finish you’d like - dewy, satin or matte? If you have dry skin then consider a hydrating, luminous- finish foundation like Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation or NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation. For oily skin, an oil-free liquid or powder foundation, which absorbs oil and leaves your skin with a velvety smooth matte finish would be preferable. Remember that matte foundations are designed to even out skin tone and hide imperfections, so they’re usually medium to full coverage. Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation and Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Foundation provide coverage while giving the skin a youthful glow, they’re perfect long wear foundations. If you’re aiming just to enhance your own complexion then opt for something lightweight and sheer, such as Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector SPF 30 or Chantelcaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser. For normal/combination skin, satin finish delivers flawless results. These foundations sit somewhere between dewy and matte. NARS Sheer Glow Foundation and Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation are buildable, sheer to medium coverage and a must have for my kit.  AUTUMN’S BOHO BRIDE Please tell us about the make-up look you created for the Kissed by Fire shoot and how you achieved it. Lara says: As soon as I saw our model Sonia’s gorgeous auburn hair combined with the beauty of the shoot’s autumnal colour palette, I felt inspired to create a boho festival smoky eye look. I chose Charlotte Tilbury’s, The Bella Sofia Luxury Palette and applied the shadow all over the mobile lid, blending it up into the crease. I also applied a tiny bit of the light gold highlight shade to the inner corner of the eyes for impact. Boho wedding make-up is all about imperfect, lived-in beauty, so I didn’t want super-neat sharp winged liner. I smudged an eye pencil into the lash line, and under the lower lashes for a smoky-eye look, and finished with individual lashes, which are a perfect way to draw attention to the eyes without feeling over-powered by a heavy strip. The goal for Sonia’s beautiful skin was to achieve a bare look with virtually undetectable foundation, but l still needed great coverage for the photography. I used Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, which has a water-like consistency and blends really well. With that in place I added a very small amount of concealer to brighten the under- eye area, and made sure not to go too dark with the bronzer, as this can be a giveaway that you’re wearing make-up. I used NARS bumpy ride on the cheeks – it’s subtle, but gives the hint of colour that’s needed in pictures. To keep the make-up in place all day I finished the skin with a little translucent setting powder to avoid adding any additional coverage. Finally, onto the lips I found that MAC cream in your coffee complemented the model’s skin tone and eyeshadow.
