The wedding venue has hosted many of the local trust’s brave doctors and nurses, many of whom have been working on Covid-19 wards. “They made the tough decision to stay away from their families to help save lives, so we’ve done everything possible to make their stay here the best it can be. Being the only hotel open in the area for many weeks, we’ve provided the much-needed support our key workers have needed, and we’re very proud of that,” says events manager Sophie Brunger. In terms of weddings, the venue has been supportive of couples who’ve been forced to postpone their big day, while being mindful of those still wishing to book theirs, but now face challenges. There has been a member of the events team available onsite throughout, willing and able to assist. Sophie says, “We’re available by phone or email and can even offer video meetings, including a virtual tour.” What’s more, wedding package prices have been frozen for 2021, including the fabulous £2,020 package. It’s no wonder Mercure Tunbridge Wells is a finalist for Wedding Venue of the Year at the Kent Wedding Awards 2020! He explains, "Many members of my family have worked for the NHS and emergency services. My dad is a retired firefighter and my mum worked for the NHS. So, I do understand what it's like to have family on the frontline with irregular working hours, night shifts, interrupted sleep patterns, and emergency overtime. None of these things make it into the news and not many people think twice about it… until now. "It's become apparent, more than ever in my lifetime, just how much we all rely on these services and the people working in them. They’re keeping this country going.” So, with this in mind Matt is keen to do his little bit to say “thank you,” and is offering all our NHS and emergency services staff, including frontline staff and back office workers, a complimentary extras pack with every full-day wedding coverage, including pre-shoot, worth £590. If you qualify for this fantastic offer, or know someone who does, get in touch with Matt for award-winning wedding photography with even more added value.
