Your Kent Wedding - May/June 2020 (Issue 90)

My uncle organised for us to have a horse and carriage. The horses were stunning and impeccably behaved – it was the perfect way to travel. It also gave us a bit of extra time, just the two of us, following the ceremony. About eight months before the wedding we started collecting our favourite photos of our guests taken with us throughout the years, and used these as their place names. It broke the ice with people who didn’t know each other, as well as bringing back some brilliant memories. Lisa from Lily & Myrtle astounded us with our flowers. She created six high design centrepieces in tall vases and six lower designs centred around candles. We also had large flower spheres hanging from the ceiling, which I absolutely fell in love with. Plus, my bouquet was simply beautiful and guests commented on how stunning the church flowers were. The table plan was surprisingly easy to lay out. A good friend, who happens to be a graphic designer, created it for us to fit in with our pale pink theme. My mum lives in Horsmonden, and Andy and I would walk her Great Danes through the grounds of Sprivers, even before we started dating. It felt like a very personal place to us, and after meeting Jo we just knew it was the venue for our big day. It felt like our own magnificent home for the weekend. My auntie very kindly made and decorated our cake. We were so grateful for all of the hard work she put into it. It was such a shame to cut into it, but it tasted delicious. 50
