Your Kent Wedding - Nov/Dec 2019 (Issue 87)

I DO What are the dos and don’ts of wedding day make-up? Sharon says: DO chat with your stylist – if you have any concerns they’ll be able to make recommendations. DO have a make-up trial. It’s essential not only to ensure that you’re happy with your choices but also to feel comfortable with your stylist. DO Emphasise your eyes. This is where your loved one will be looking when they vow to spend the rest of their days loving you. Don’t forget to opt for a waterproof mascara just to be on the safe side! DON’T make any changes to your skin care routine in the final weeks before your wedding. Regular facials once a month however will help to keep your skin polished and beautiful. Adornare | adornare.co.uk W-DAY TIMELINE What time do I need to allow in the morning for hair and make-up and what comes first? Elizabeth says: On the day the bridal make-up takes approximately an hour, other party members including bridesmaids’ and mother-of-the-bride take around 45-50 minutes. The bride never goes first or last – I like to start the bride’s make-up somewhere in the middle, so that we have plenty of time. It’s best for the make-up to be done first, with the exception of the lips. That way the hair doesn’t need to be moved to make-up your face. Lips are applied just before you put on your dress. Once they’re done I always give my wedding party straws, so that they can drink champagne without smudging their lips. Drink plenty of water leading up to the big day, get early nights and amp up your skincare routine to minimise breakouts.” – Danielle Crees, @DanielleCreesBlissfullyBeautiful BEAUTY HACK “If you have a stylist in mind reach out to them as soon as you have your wedding date or you could be disappointed.” – Sharon Harris, adornare.co.uk paulplacitelliphotography.com for @DanielleCreesBlissfullyBeautiful HOT TO TROT What are the current trends in bridal make-up? Danielle says: Hot right now is the Meghan Markle effect: luminous, flushed cheeks, natural lips, feathery brows, freckles and dewy skin – what’s not to like? Many of my brides love the glamorous look. For a touch of drama a pop of lip colour is a real showstopper. Try a lip stain with a product such as Dr Paw Paw Original for a long-lasting non-sticky finish that will keep your pout hydrated. You could even change up the look going au naturel for the ceremony and glamfor the reception. Bambi eyes are a great way to achieve a twist on natural beauty by intensifying the brows, using some wispy lashes and creating a beautiful smoky eye for a happily ever after.
