 The garden of England Our roundup of Kent’s glorious garden venues The Old Kent Barn 01303 844 270 | theoldkentbarn.co.uk The Old Kent Barn is a 200-year-old oak-framed tithe barn, full of character and beams. It serves as the accommodation for the venue, with a luxurious newlywed suite and two additional double en suite rooms. Receptions are held in the new barn, which is both opulent and neutral to coordinate with any colour scheme or theme. There’s a light tiled floor throughout the venue, and the solid wood dancefloor and stage area are softened with ivory drapes and a magical starlit ceiling, guiding you to the floor for your first dance. You can also exchange vows here. THE GARDENS The beautiful grounds have been professionally landscaped, creating formal parterres with romantic roses, sweeping curved hedges and an informal lake garden with a fountain all set against a backdrop of mature trees and countryside. Within the gardens sits a large gazebo with a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. The whole area is paved and covered with glass pergolas, so if the weather should take a turn for the worse, your guests will be kept dry and comfy.
