The Commissioner’s House at The Historic Dockyard Chatham, originally built in 1704 as the official residence of the Commissioner of the Royal Dockyard, has undergone an extensive 18-month restoration. The Grade I listed mansion has been beautifully revived, preserving its Georgian grandeur while introducing contemporary facilities for modern celebrations. For more than 300 years, the house has welcomed admirals, dignitaries and distinguished guests. Today, couples can begin their own chapter in this remarkable setting, with exclusiveuse weddings surrounded by centuries of history and elegant architecture. A highlight of the transformation is the addition of a stunning new Orangery. Flooded with natural light and overlooking the beautifully landscaped gardens, the contemporary space connects seamlessly to a private terrace, creating the perfect setting for ceremonies, drinks receptions and wedding breakfasts.
