Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding - November/December 2020 (Issue 83)

REAL WEDDINGS 47  We had the full festive experience with presents around the trees and a traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, followed by mince pies and chocolate logs. We used cryptic names for the tables in reference to places we’d been to and we had photos of us at each location. The centrepieces were mini Xmas trees, we had bottle openers, chocolates and baubles as favours and we wrote everyone’s names on labels attached to crackers at each place. “We didn’t have a plated meal because we wanted to create an interactive Christmas day feel.” We decorated our cake with a fir-cone bride and groom and flowers from the florist. There was mistletoe, fir cones that we’d collected, Christmas trees and fairylights galore. We wanted our guests to be able to relax and get changed after the formal part so we had a Christmas jumper competition and my dad dressed up as Santa.
