Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding - September/October 2020 (Issue 82)

Local experts tackle your seasonal wedding worries HOT TOPIC We love the autumn and are planning to get married next October but we’re worried if the weather’s bad we might not get the full range of photographs we’d hope for. Jessica says: This is my favourite season as it’s so cosy and often the weather can be surprisingly good. There are plenty of great photo opportunities too. The autumn leaves provide a beautiful pop of colour, you can have hot chocolate as welcome drinks and firepits for the evening, not to mention the gorgeous golden hour! This is that precious time of day when, for around 20 minutes or so as the sun is setting, there’s a beautiful natural glow; perfect for magical shots. You can take a romantic stroll, or stop in some fields while your photographer captures it all. Although an autumn wedding can be stunning, it can require a little more preparation as the weather is more unpredictable than in the summer. As a professional photographer I’ve seen it all; thunderstorms in July, snow in March and sunshine in September. You never know what our UK climate will throw at us so it’s best to expect the unexpected! Jessica Hayman | Photographer | www.jessicahaymanphotography.co.uk COME RAIN OR SNOW THE SUPPORTING ROLE My mum’s not used to shopping for formalwear and is stressing about what to choose for our big day. She wants something that will set her apart but still feel comfortable and suitable for our intimate wedding. Julie says: Everyone knows that planning a wedding can be stressful at the best of times, but 2020 has taken it to another level. You may be planning something more relaxed for your intimate celebration or you may still want to go all out because those all-important photographs are going to be even more valuable to show loved ones who may not be able to attend the ceremony. Our latest stock includes new styles from several labels including the ever- popular Veni Infantino range. There are dresses for casual weddings as well as more formal affairs with coats too; ideal for autumn and winter. We’re based in a quiet village with free on-street parking next to the shop, great for relaxed, stress-free shopping and we’re working in a COVID-secure way, with private appointments available on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays.
