Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding - September/October 2020 (Issue 82)

My stepfather and his wife made our Victoria sponge cake. It was amazing and we kept a slice in our freezer for our first anniversary. We chose the Priest’s House Museum because we always wanted a relaxed, outdoor garden reception where our family could join together and celebrate. My mother and I picked sloes and raspberries to ferment with gin and vodka for the Alice in Wonderland-style miniatures we gave our guests as favours. The centrepieces were glass jars filled with flowers and decorated with hessian which we made ourselves. As the reception venue was directly opposite the Minster we just walked across the road to it. We didn’t have a sit-down meal as we wanted people to be able to mill around and eat where they wanted. REAL WEDDINGS 39 
