Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding - July/August 2020 (Issue 81)

76 The natural dewy effect is a bridal make-up trend that’s here to stay t e look GET H ampshire hair and make-up artist Natasha Wiggins is a big fan of the natural look and uses products designed to create that all-important bridal glow. Here she shares her step-by-step guide to help you feel like the radiant bride of your dreams. ❤ Preparation is key, so the first step is to create a really good base for your make-up by applying a primer all over the face including the eyes. I like to use the Dior Backstage Face & Body Primer as it’s hydrating and plumping, helping to prep the skin so your foundation goes on smoothly. ❤ Start with the eyes so you can wipe away any stray specks of eyeshadow, eyeliner or mascara smudges before applying your foundation. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette has 14 amazing colours that last really well, even for those teary moments. For this look I used iridescent gold on the lid as the base and blended in the rose gold and rose pink with warm chocolate brown in the corners to create a lovely smoky effect to really make her eyes pop. It’s best to use an angled brush for this as it’s easier to get into the corners. ❤ Apply eyeliner to the top lid, I love Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner which does just that and is totally smudge proof. I used a very thin brush, as thin as you can get, to apply black from the Soft Glam Palette underneath the lower lash line. I love using eyeshadow for this as you can go as thick or thin as you like for the perfect effect. ❤ Finish with Max Factor Materpiece HD Waterproof Mascara. ❤ For the bride’s face I used Dior Forever Undercover Foundation all over. I love this product as it feels like you’re not wearing make-up and gives a lovely, dewy fresh finish. Apply Bobbi Brown (Intensive Skin) Serum Concealer under the eyes and on any blemishes; great for amazing coverage and it works on dry skin too. ❤ Follow with Diorskin Nude Air Loose Power to set the make-up. ❤ To highlight the upper cheekbone I used Tied Up from the NARS Overlust Cheek Palette followed by Drift on the bottom half of the cheek. ❤ Using a big blusher brush I went over both with NARS Orgasm blusher followed by a dusting of the Drift highlighter in a figure of three, starting from the forehead to give a dewy effect. ❤ I then reapplied the loose powder over the whole face to set everything. ❤ Define eyebrows with a Dior eye pencil and add a slick of Orgasm lipstick and gloss to complete the look. ❤ Finish with a spritz of Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray to keep your make-up in place all day.
