64 A one-of-kind venue and couture wedding gowns combine to create a style explosion Images courtesy of SUCH Photography Beauty T he Explosion Museum of Naval Firepower, Gosport is a standout venue for a wedding with a difference. Marvel at the scale of the original gunpowder store originating from 1771, with beautiful vaulted ceilings and Georgian wooden floors. Set in the camber area of Gosport with waterside views looking out over Priddy’s Hard, it provides a wow- factor big-day backdrop. Add stunning couture dresses to the mix, light blue touch paper and stand well back; heads are sure to turn! The historic wedding venue provided a wonderfully quirky setting to showcase the gorgeous creations of Hampshire-based bridal designer David Western. Feminine floaty numbers and bold designs set against the contrast of the venue’s amazing spaces gave the shoot a striking alternative edge – perfect for David’s signature style, ‘Dare to be Different’. David says,“The concept was to contrast the romantic and soft against the raw, strong and dramatic features of the venue.” AND THE BEAST
