47  REAL WEDDINGS ONE FINE day Hannah and Pete celebrated their wedding with a bright and cheery summer garden party Images courtesy of Katie McCullough Photography H annah and Pete met at Nottingham University while they were both studying medicine. “We were in halls just down the corridor from each other and were friends for a few years before becoming a couple. I always joke that he was just a bit slow to catch on,” laughs Hannah. Pete proposed on a day out in the New Forest, one of Hannah’s favourite places. “We’d both been working the weekend before so we had a random Tuesday off together which meant we barely saw anyone else during the walk. As we reached a lovely part of the woods off the beaten track, Pete got down on one knee!” She said ‘yes’ of course and they celebrated with a pub lunch afterwards and champagne when they got home. “Hannah nearly ruined it all by making plans with a friend for the same day.Thank goodness it was cancelled at the last minute,” adds Pete. The timing was perfect as two of Hannah’s oldest friends also got engaged within weeks of them, so they were all able to celebrate and plan together. Read on for Hannah’s account of their big day…
