With vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, the recently restored Westgate Hall is a ceremony venue with a difference. Tucked away within the Medieval walls of Southampton, the 15 th -century timber-framed building has a magical atmosphere. Dressed with roses tumbling from the beams, the first-floor ceremony room can accommodate up to 74 seated guests to watch you say ‘I do’. Post-vows, the ancient walls overlooking the water are a popular spot for standout photos. Did you know? Westgate Hall was once situated in St Michael’s Square when it was the town’s fish market and cloth hall. Dismantled in 1634, the timbers were used to construct the beautiful building that stands today. Located in the Civic Centre, this local landmark is sure to impress with its large clock tower, tall ceilings, polished wood floors and historic artefacts. A truly spectacular setting for weddings, the room’s theatre-style layout boasts a long aisle and tall windows that flood the room with light. A sweeping staircase leads up to the ceremony room and the Mayor’s Balcony; perfect for those all-important photos. Ceremonies take place on Saturdays, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays and it can seat up to 50 guests.
