Your Hampshire & Dorset Wedding - Jan/Feb 2020 (Issue 78)

Instead of a traditional pudding, our cake maker made platters of mini treats including meringue kisses, macarons, iced biscuits and chocolate fudge cake pops. My dad did the table plan which was mounted on a bevelled mirror. I’d always had my heart set on having white flowers and foliage for my wedding. My bridesmaids wore floaty one-shoulder Grecian-style dresses and our little girl had a white Gilly Gray dress which I designed for her. Chris, his best man and our little boy Freddie all wore matching suits. Our cake included tiers of Victoria, zesty lemon and strawberry and prosecco infused sponge. My bouquet was made of white hydrangeas and roses bound with trailing ribbons. The centrepieces were glass cylinder vases with white hydrangeas and green trailing amaranthus. “ “ I filled fishbowls with treats for our sweetie table and had paper bags, personalised with our names and the wedding date, for guests to help themselves. “ We decided on no ties for the groom’s party as we wanted a relaxed look for our wedding.
