Your Hampshire & Dorset Wedding - Mar/Apr 2019 (Issue 73)

REAL WEDDINGS 47  J emma Derby and Jonjo Robinson met at the gym, hit it off and the rest, as they say, is history. On New Year’s Eve 2017 on the canal belt in Amsterdam, just as the fireworks were going off, Jonjo popped the question. “It was a complete surprise,” reveals Jemma. She said yes, of course, and almost exactly a year later on 29 th December, 2018 they tied the knot at Rhinefield House, deep within the New Forest National Park. SETTING THE SCENE The stunning venue worked its magic from the moment they first arrived. “Who wouldn’t love Rhinefield? I adore the Gothic woodland style, the approach to the venue is breathtaking and we found it really striking and romantic,” recalls Jemma. They opted for a glamorous red and champagne colour scheme to complement the season and the lush surroundings. LOOKING THE PART Jemma didn’t actually choose her Martina Liana gown, the helpful staff at the bridal boutique picked it out for her. “As soon as I tried it on, I just fell in love with it.” She also wore a gold and silver diamanté hair piece with a Swarovski crystal jewellery set and carried a bouquet of red roses flecked with gold skimmia and diamanté. The guys looked smart in royal blue Ted Baker suits and Jonjo stood out in a check jacket to match their waistcoats. The bridesmaids complemented the colour scheme in ruby red dresses, which Jemma designed herself, with help from the dressmaker. “They had long sleeves, lace tops and satin skirts with a lace fishtail,” she explains. To complete the look they wore pretty corsages of white roses and lisianthus.
