It was only the second time Amber had ever seen him cry, the first being their engagement. In the lead-up to the wedding, Caelan had shown little emotion, but that quickly changed at the altar. So overcome, his mum and uncle had to escort him outside to calm down before the voes. In contrast, Amber was calm and collected. “I’d already cried all my tears in the lead-up,” she says. “After all the stress and emotions of planning, I felt peaceful, like everything had finally come together.” The morning began with stillness. Amber took a quiet moment alone at the entrance of the house, soaking in the open views with soft bird song and clear skies. “It was so tranquil! I remember just standing there, listening, and feeling completely grounded.” The lovebirds were incredibly lucky with the weather. The day was clear, sunny and warm, with just a touch of “good luck” rain falling an hour before midnight, sealing the day with a perfect ending. Amber and Caelan chose to have two ceremonies; an official one inside the house, followed by a religious blessing in the chapel. It turned out to be perfect! Caelan, overwhelmed with emotion during the first ceremony, had a second chance to watch Amber walk down the aisle, this time with a smile instead of tears. The chapel blessing added deep personal meaning to the day, honouring Amber’s Christian upbringing and made unforgettable by a truly special priest that the couple instantly connected with. The first dance was a slightly chaotic but memorable moment. With Amber starting a new job just a week before and Caelan tied up with work, they had barely any time to prepare. As evening guests arrived, the couple took to the front steps of the house and, after a one-minute waltz practice, attempted their first dance. “Let’s just say, we don’t recommend winging it if you’re not dancers,” comments Amber. The day had its share of humour. The bouquet toss became a moment of mischief when the groom’s mum playfully intercepted the bouquet. A re-do was necessary and the rightful catcher from the second toss is now engaged! “Turns out bouquet tosses do work,” Amber adds. SPECIAL MENTIONS So many people helped make the day extraordinary. The team at Stansted House, especially Sasha and David, went above and beyond. From the first visit to the morning after the wedding, their support was unwavering to the pair. Sasha’s hands-on help, even the day before the wedding, made everything feel seamless, and David’s surprise post-wedding Rolls-Royce ride was the perfect send-off. Rock of the Pops delivered not just a performance but a full experience. From booking to the final encore, they were unforgettable. Lead singer Shannon even created a custom sloweddown version of Kylie Minogue’s Love at First Sight for the first dance and gifted the couple a recorded version to keep. Hairstylist Charlie Talmage stayed by Amber’s side right until she walked down the aisle managing last-minute details and fitting in like one of the bridal party. Laura and Alex from Inbetween Days Photography were more than photographers, they felt like friends. Not only did they capture every requested shot, but they also helped coordinate the flow of the day. Their photos, delivered promptly, beautifully captured both the big moments and the quiet in-betweens, preserving the spirit of the day perfectly. 28
