LOOKING THE PART From her teenage years, Amber always knew she’d walk down the aisle in that dress – Vivienne Westwood’s iconic Long Cocotte, a design born in the 1990s, her favourite era. True to her vision, she wore the classic gown with a bespoke twist; the neckline was slightly reworked, and a detachable silk overskirt was added in collaboration with the Davies Street store. As a minimalist, the bride paired the gown with pale blue Jimmy Choo Love Pumps for her subtle something blue and chose to forgo heavy jewellery, instead borrowing her mother-in-law’s diamond solitaire studs. A plain Vivienne Westwood cathedral veil completed the look with timeless elegance. The bride looked absolutely radiant! In the evening, Amber changed into a couture ivory silk gown by Manhattan-based Guillermo Couture, a second-hand treasure she sourced from a woman in the USA. The dress was inspired by Angelina Jolie’s Randolph Duke look at the 1998 Emmys, understated yet glamorous, minimalist but with a touch of sparkle, perfectly suited to both the house and the occasion. Amber recalls, “With my main dress being new, I wanted my second to be thrifted – it felt like a beautiful balance.” Seeing herself on the big day brought a wave of emotion. “I was nervous at first. I don’t wear much make-up and had struggled to find someone who could create a natural look,” Amber shares. She found her dream make-up artist just weeks before the wedding, and a hairstylist only a few months prior. Despite the last-minute nature, both delivered beyond expectation, creating a radiant, effortless look that left Amber feeling confident and glowing. “They made us all feel so relaxed and special, it really felt like they were part of the girl group.” Caelan wore a deep green Gieves & Hawkes suit, accented with Vivienne Westwood cufflinks as a subtle nod to Amber’s dress. Though blue had always been Caelan’s colour, they wanted something different to complement the white and blue wedding theme. After months of searching and even considering custom options, he found the perfect, unexpected shade of green that suited both him and the venue beautifully. The bridesmaids wore dresses in the same soft blue as Amber’s shoes and the floral accents throughout the day. The style was chosen with care, designed to flatter each of her bridesmaids and tie seamlessly into the aesthetic of the day. TIME TO CELEBRATE Entertainment reflected both Amber and Caelan’s personalities as well as their shared love for Scotland. A traditional bagpiper led Amber down the aisle and later led the newlyweds back from the chapel to the main house after their second ceremony. Amber says, “It felt like something out of a fairytale, or the Pied Piper!” The bagpiper stayed throughout most of the day, charming guests with his music and proving to be a memorable and much-loved feature. For the evening, the couple chose a unique band, Rock of the Pops, who broke away from the usual wedding band repertoire. Instead of classic rock or slow ballads, they delivered energetic dance and pop hits from the past three decades, perfectly tailored to the couple and their guests. The response was electric. “Every single guest was on their feet. It wasn’t your typical wedding playlist, and that made it unforgettable,” the bride recalls. “The energy was phenomenal, it felt like a real celebration.” The band was such a hit that the night ended with chants for encores and a dancefloor packed with joy. 27 REAL WEDDINGS
