Your Herts and Beds Wedding - June/July 2020 (Issue 80)

53 REGIONAL SHOOT Check out this local shoot at The Barn at Brook End Green Farm Images courtesy of Perfect Timing Photography I nspired by the colour blue – Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2020 – this shoot highlighted how different shades can be incorporated together against the beautiful setting of The Barn at Brook End Green Farm. With gorgeous wooden beam features, this space was the perfect blank canvas, which allowed the suppliers to really get creative. Melissa Teager from Mel’s Cakes and Bakes says: “I chose suppliers I’d worked with before who I knew could help me achieve the high-quality rustic-style I was after and we loved seeing everyone’s work come together. The flowers and dress have a romantic feel to them, the hair and make-up has been kept natural and the cake is designed to be decadent and is showed off beautifully by the flowers, styling and the lighting. “Unfortunately, the weather was not on our side to capture the beautiful grounds, orchard and lake that surround the barn as we had torrential rain all day. However, this shoot goes to show how you can still get amazing images of your special day whatever the weather. “As a cake maker, I was keen to show how adding styling to the cake set up can really help to make it a real feature of the day. The balloon arch really adds to the overall effect and once cut, it can then become a backdrop for fun photos in the evening.” RUSTIC beauty 
