77 EXPERT ADVICE BRIDAL BEAUTY Q: I’m so excited for our wedding and want the perfect base make-up. What are the main dos and don’ts when it comes to this?  A bridal look is unlike any other type of make-up application as in it needs to stay put and look flawless all day and night, as well as look great in natural light and on camera. It also needs to withstand the demands of the day with all the tears and dancing. The key to achieving the perfect base is appropriate skin preparation. Correct primers, moisturisers and correcting products will ensure your base and the rest of the make-up remains radiant and glowing all day. For example, if you have an oily T-zone, you need to use a mattifying primer or your make-up will look shiny in the wrong areas and enhance your pores. For very dry skin, you’ll need a primer which will moisturise and hydrate skin otherwise you’ll have dry patches, which will look cakey. I usually recommend a facial treatment leading up to the wedding day to ensure your skin is its best condition! The latest trend has a more relaxed feel and is easily achieved by brushing the hairs upwards before setting with a clear or tinted gel. For a longer term solution, check out brow lamination treatments at your local salon.  Au naturel - still by far the hottest make-up trend is the understated natural look. Think wedding-day Duchess of Sussex with radiant glowing skin, lightly flushed cheeks and doe eyes with a smoked-out liner.  Berry nice - a classic red lip is a great way to amp up the glam, but it's not a shade everyone will feel confident with. Try a gorgeous berry hue on your lips after the first kiss to take your look from day to night. Beauty editor | Kelly Andrews |  kellya@county.wedding
