Your Herts and Beds Wedding - April/May 2020 (Issue 79)

Me and Ian are very happy and positive people with Caribbean heritage, so we wanted to reflect this in our flowers by using bright yellows carnival oranges and deep pinks. St Andrew’s Church was significant to me as my parents got married there. The reception venue, Putteridge Bury, had amazing grounds as well as the capacity we needed. Our table and chair decorations were white, which for me represented our pure love. The tables were kept simple with a maximum of 10 to a table as we wanted to make sure everyone enjoyed the company of at least three or four people they knew. After trying on many dresses and getting nowhere, I decided to use my skills and go bespoke. I teamed up with a very good workshop and we worked together exceptionally well – I wanted a fresh and pretty look. We used single flowers sewn onto the bodice to create a 3D effect for some texture. 38
