Your Herts and Beds Wedding - February/March 2024 (Issue 102)

REAL WEDDINGS 31 thoroughly enjoyed the variety offered. It’s safe to say no one went hungry! The team served canapés for the drinks reception, followed by a lovely three-course meal for the wedding breakfast and late-night munchies to see everyone through the evening. Micklefiled Hall’s recommended supplier, Maxine, created the beautiful wedding cake. The lovebirds went for a tasting session and were blown away by each cake's flavours, styles and dedication. They opted for lemon, carrot and raspberry in the end. LOOKING THE PART The bride wore a beautiful A-line wedding dress from What Alice Wore Bridal with white April leaf appliqués. She says, “After visiting the store, we met Rachel, who was super helpful with her expert knowledge. She listened to where I wanted my dress to accentuate some body parts and where I wanted it to work its magic by hiding certain areas. I think it was clear early on the design I wanted, as I must have picked out all the same leaf patterns, just different necklines. I found the perfect gown after trying on a mixture of dresses and Rachel recommended a satin edge veil to show off the beautiful pattern in my dress. I couldn’t believe how glamorous I looked! I don’t tend to get my make-up done professionally, But my beauty team brought my whole look together. It was a special moment when my mum was helping me get ready.” Jack wore a three-piece suit from HRH Holmes in Hitchin. Its main colour was navy, with a checked burnt orange pattern to match the colour scheme. He styled it with brown leather brogues and a burnt orange tie. Jack, his two best men and six groomsmen all wore matching suits. However, Jack had an orange buttonhole to stand out. The aisle at Micklefield is quite long, so Jack turned his back when the music started. He waited until the bride was at the top of the stairs, and then one of his best men gave him the nudge to turn around. Jack said he was more nervous than ever, but turning around to see his bride filled him with joy. Chloe says, “I was nervous and focused on not walking too quickly! When he turned around and I saw his cheeky smile, everything slotted into place and my nerves disappeared.” On the couple's wedding invitations, the lovebirds asked guests to dress smart but summery, as they wanted bright and bold colours while ensuring guests felt comfortable. MEMORABLE MOMENTS The couple loved seeing everyone enjoying themselves, mingling and catching up! A DJ entertained guests all night, and a photo booth was a huge hit with all. After the wedding, the couple loved going through the USB to see all the photos taken. POP Party Hire provided ‘LOVE’ light-up letters to add a special touch to the dancefloor. The wedding was full of memorable moments from start to finish! Chloe says, “While I was getting ready, the nerves set in. We continued the tradition by parting ways the night before and not speaking until the ceremony. It was so difficult because we always have each other as our go-to person when we feel nervous about anything. What relaxed me was when one of Jack’s best men brought me across a wedding gift and card on behalf of Jack. His gorgeous words helped me to relax and from that moment onwards, I was so excited to see him! “The whole day could not have gone any better if we tried, and we’ve both said we’d love to do it all again. One part that stood out the most was two of my bridesmaids (Eloise and Natalie) doing a speech for us. Shortly after they began talking, brown envelopes were handed around, and it was safe to say I had a slight panic about what it could contain. But it was, in fact, a lyric sheet. They sang their way through the remaining speech, singing lyrics they wrote themselves and getting our guests up and joining in – it was truly incredible and blew us all away!” The Micklefield Hall team, who were terrific and ensured everything went perfectly, made the day go so smoothly. The pair honestly couldn’t recommend the venue enough, as they wemt above and
