Your Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Wedding- December 2020/Janaury 2021 (Issue 24)

Our friend designed a logo with our initials on that featured on our place names as well as our invites and ceremony booklets. We stamped each place name with hot wax and hand-wrote the names ourselves. Our favours were salt and pepper peas in a pod shakers for each guest because we wanted something that people could keep. We made our centrepieces using milk bottles filled with fairylights and shredded newspaper to fit with our literary theme that we placed on a stack of books. Our cake was a stunning cheese wheel that provided the ideal late-night snack complete with crackers, fruit and homemade biscuits baked by a very talented friend of my mums. Our table names were after our favourite books that we enjoyed reading together including To Kill a Mockingbird, Alice in Wonderland, Vurt and Casino Royale. “It took us plenty of research to find a reading that suited us as a couple. We had been together for more than seven years so we knew that we wanted something that reflected this, and our commitment to one another, even when times are hard. We came across Love is a Temporary Madness from Captain Corelli’s Mandolin and I loved the truthfulness of this reading.” - Katie Matthew wore a dark green wool suit with a green pocket square and our groomsmen wore grey wool suits with green pocket squares.
