What can I expect to see trending in the world of wedding accessories for small, intimate winter and Christmas weddings this year? Sarah Jane says: Christmas trends this year are going to reflect the adapting that many couples have had to do recently. With many weddings now postponed to the winter months, we’re expecting cover-ups and wraps to be a popular option. Long lace sleeves, faux fur stoles and long tulle capes will also help to transition a summer dress. With the uncertainty of guest and travel restrictions, we’re also seeing many couples opting for smaller celebrations, potentially with a bigger reception next year. Some people will see this as an opportunity to go big on the small details that they wouldn’t have budgeted for with a larger wedding. Veils are always a popular choice but we’re getting lots of orders for statement and hand-embroidered veils, often with special messages, flowers and names that are sentimental to the couple. Bespoke jewellery and headpieces have also been popular with our brides who want to treat themselves and find something that they will treasure and perhaps pass down to a future generation. We’re also finding that coordinating everyone in the bridal party is another trend. Having been so distant from our friends and families this year, more emphasis will be spent on creating a cohesive look and being able to gift loved ones with something special that they can wear on the day too. Matching hair accessories and engraved pieces from our sister company, https://brittenanthology.com, have been very popular for this. There are couples who are shunning tradition altogether and letting their personalities shine through. We’ve seen plenty of brides who have opted for colourful dresses and accessories that they can wear again after the big day. Adding a veil or a cape will help to make this look feel more bridal.
