Your Glos and Wilts Wedding - October/November 2019 (Issue 17)

Our centrepieces were a mix of flowers grown in our garden. They included small alliums, sunflowers, white roses and hydrangeas. They were arranged in mix-and-match glass jars that my mum had been collecting, with three jars placed on a log slice on each table surrounded by tea lights. We provided a grass sofa for extra seating, which became quite a talking point – especially when one guest had a bit too much to drink and slept on it for most of the evening! We styled the barn with lots of fresh flowers that my mum had arranged and also displayed pale pink lanterns, photographs of us as a couple and lots of fairylights, which looked so romantic! We loved the fact that we could decorate the barn how we wished and stuck to a rustic theme with pink touches. We wanted a wedding in a barn with our 60 guests gathered together for the entire day and evening, and The Barn at Upcote offered just this. We loved that we could hold the entire celebration there, that it’s exclusive, spacious and is a family-run business. “Our guests tucked into a goat’s cheese starter, a summer chicken wellington as the main course and a peanut butter and chocolate tart for dessert.” – Victoria 38
