Your East Midlands Wedding - Feb/Mar 2020 (Issue 36)

On each table we had ivory flowers and peacock feathers stood in the napkins and tied in with the castle logo and added a pop of colour. My friend Katie created handmade candles from beeswax and we put them into miniature suitcases for the adults, with luggage tag place names attached. We had activities inside for the children. Our three-tiered cake was ivory with a map on one tier, bringing our theme together perfectly. At the castle you get to cut the cake with the duke’s sword, so we did this in front of all of our guests in the evening. We created a chilled Ibiza feel with music. We had garden games to keep the children entertained along with paper aeroplanes and balloons. To tie in with my London roots and the travel theme, we hired a London bus to transport our guests from the hotel to the castle. The bus even had destinations displayed from where I grew up! We named each table after a destination we’d been to together and a photo with a short note about the holiday. REAL WEDDINGS 37 
