Your East Midlands Wedding - Feb/Mar 2020 (Issue 36)

REAL WEDDINGS 31  An outdoor pod provided hot homemade waffles with a mixture of sauces and candy floss on sticks, which was a surprise from Jasmine’s dad. LOOKING THE PART Jasmine found the perfect gown by Stella York in style  6586 , a lightweight dress that matched the style of the venue with its vintage flair. To match the dress, a long veil was added as well as a beautiful necklace Rob bought her for the big day and her grandma’s watch, which finished off the look beautifully.  Jasmine says, “Rob is known for wearing a bow tie, he had a calla lily for a buttonhole. He wore the same suit as the groomsmen, which was a grey/blue vintage-style tweed along with braces underneath.” The bridesmaids wore a mint-green maxi-style dress with a sheer overlay and satin belt with blush-pink shoes and matching handbags. TIME TO CELEBRATE For the entertainment, the DJ was perfect for getting the party started and guests loved the photo booth with all of the props and double prints that were placed into a guest book with a message that the couple could cherish forever. MEMORABLE MOMENTS Speaking about the big day Jasmine says, “I’m normally a very nervous person but on the day I was so high on life and so calm. I also couldn’t believe the weather, it was glorious sunshine which meant we could get married outside as we wanted.” Robert, on the other hand, was the complete opposite. He says, “I was so nervous, they started playing the song for Jasmine to walk down the aisle and she didn’t come for ages, I started to panic but the moment I saw her I started to cry with joy. I have never felt as happy as I did on the day, everything was perfect from start to finish.” Jasmine continues, “Our photographer was amazing and allowed us to enjoy our day but captured so many beautiful shots at the same time – he stayed later in the evening when we had run over on timings just to make sure he got all the photos we wanted.” Another person that helped with the couple’s journey was Emily who works at Cressbrook Hall, Jasmine says, “She couldn’t do enough for us in the run-up to the wedding, and on the day she was amazing.” HONEYMOON The day after the wedding the couple visited a log cabin in Cropton, which was perfect to relax and spend time together as a newlywed couple. The lovebirds are saving up for a honeymoon to the Dominican Republic. Jasmine says, “I cannot wait for two weeks just us two! We didn’t want all of our holidays to be in one chunk of the year so we thought it would work best.”
