The venue has a wonderful Georgian- style façade with a stunning arched entranceway and front portico covered with wisteria. The grounds boast formal landscaped gardens with manicured lawns and beautiful flower-filled borders, as well as narrow paths and shaded woodland areas. All of which provides stunning scenes for wedding photographs. Great for reception drinks and canapés, The Grand Hall is bright and welcoming with its arched windows and portico – there’s even a baby grand piano that can be played to entertain guests. Ceremonies take place in three different spaces at the venue. The Primrose Room can hold up to 175 guests with beautiful large picture windows providing views over the gardens. The focal point of the room is the grand fireplace, in front of which couples say their vows and the length of the room provides a long aisle for grand entrances. The Drawing Room is perfect for a more intimate ceremony with up to 90 guests. For a truly romantic ambience, the ceremony can be conducted by candlelight and the fireplaces can be lit. If the couple wishes to be at one with nature, this venue has The Bandstand, an outdoor ceremony space surrounded by manicured lawns with borders and topiary hedging. It provides a picture-perfect natural setting for happy couples to unite and can also be dressed to coordinate with the wedding style. The celebrations continue with the wedding breakfast taking place in either The Primrose Room for 120 guests or The Ballroom, which has a high-ceiling, chandeliers and tapestry wall hangings. This room is the perfect setting for evening receptions as it has plenty of space for dancing, a band or disco for 150 loved ones to enjoy. There’s even a well-stocked bar for guests to enjoy! If couples wish for a more intimate dining experience for the wedding breakfast, the beautiful Formal Dining Room hosts 32 guests. Hemswell Court is exclusively the couples’ from arrival on the day of the wedding until breakfast the following morning – perfect for any couple.
