Situated in rural Northamptonshire and surrounded by 700 acres of ancient parkland, Whittlebury Hall Hotel is a hidden treasure – one that I couldn’t wait to visit! My husband and I enjoyed the Signature Spa Stay that included use of the spa, a 25-minute back massage, lunch, dinner, overnight stay and breakfast, and it was a real treat. To start the stay I couldn’t resist a look around the wedding suites. The traditional Orangery with its stone floor and wrought iron staircase comfortably seats 120 guests and the adjacent waterfall and lawns would be perfect for a summer’s day. Situated at the end of the drive, the Pavilion’s styled with a marquee lining, chandeliers and a starlight ceiling. There’s seating for 200 guests, a terraced patio, lawns and woodland surroundings, making it something special. The Atrium is the larger option for up to 400 and boasts views over the parkland. The spa was our next stop. We enjoyed a range of soothing therapies and ancient bathing rituals as well as the heat and ice experiences and a soothing back massage. After an afternoon of pure relaxation we sampled a cocktail or two in the bar and dined in Aston’s Restaurant where we were served a selection of fine cuisine. The alternative option for dinner is Murrays fine dining restaurant that’s recently been awarded its 2 AA Rosettes for the 14 th consecutive year. Our day ended with a stay in one of the five beautifully spacious suites with stunning views over the golf course and picturesque countryside. Couples hosting their day here won’t be disappointed.
