Any tips for making sure it stays put? Harriet says: I’d recommend that you texturise and stiffen the root using crimpers and a volumising powder. This will help the grips to stick in your hair and stay for the duration. Depending on the style and look you want to achieve you can secure sections with clear elastics rather than needing to use too many pins. Summer weddings lend themselves to loose boho styles, which is perfect for you as plaits and twists will also help to hold it in place. You could wave the hair and create a style for the day without too much spray and then for the evening shake it out for a relaxed look. When putting hair up a good stylist can twist and pin in a certain way to create a gorgeous wave later on. Harriet Harvey Hair stylist Hollywood glamour My hair’s poker straight but I’d love a Hollywood-glam bridal look. How can I add the movie star wave? Moira says: This is a beautiful style and it’s becoming more popular. My favourite tool for creating this look is a hot roller – nothing beats the old-school methods. If your hair’s quite stubborn I’d suggest adding extensions to the mix as they hold curls very well. Having the style clipped in place until the very last minute also helps to make it hold for longer. Everyone’s hair acts differently so be sure to book a trial with your stylist in advance. I’d recommend scheduling this in for the morning so you can see how long it holds. Moira Borg Wedding hairstylist All about the base Can you advise on the best way to prep my skin and hide my shine if it’s warm on our big day? Liz says: You need to look for long-wear products that provide a more matte finish, especially if you have a combination or oily skin type. I start by prepping the skin with Bobbi Brown’s Vitamin Enriched Face Base, as it’s a moisturiser and primer in one, so it’ll really help with longevity. I also apply a bit of Benefit Professional on the T-zone to help smooth the skin before applying a foundation such as Estée Lauder Double Wear Light or MAC Pro Longwear – both of which will withstand a hot and humid day. Remember to prep the eyes too with an eyeshadow primer such as Urban Decay’s Primer Potion or Bobbi Brown’s Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick, so your eye make-up won’t budge. Finish with powder and setting spray such as Ben Nye’s Final Seal and remember to take a few blotting sheets in your touch-up kit, just in case.  Liz Bond Make-up artist
