Your East Midlands Wedding - Apr/May (Issue 31)

49 the girls Dress your bridal party to impress Clean cut, A-line silhouettes and floaty styles remain popular for 2019, with our Wtoo by Watters collection being in demand from brides-to-be planning rustic-styled nuptials. Floaty chiffon or tulle with detailed bodices of lace and beading remain very much on the bridal fashion pulse this year. The popularity of illusion necklines is also going nowhere. Our collections from Caroline Castigliano and Sophia Tolli offer detachable trains; add on sleeves and bolero jackets. ANGE L A’ S TOP T I P S… ❤ Give yourself plenty of time to find the style for you. ❤ Don’t be afraid to commit! If the dress made you cry or you can’t stop thinking about it, then that’s the one . The more you try the more confused you’ll become. ❤ Don’t expect your dress to be an exact fit on arrival. It’s standard for alterations to be needed and allows us to tailor your dress to your shape for that perfect fit. ❤ Alterations can incur additional fees so don’t forget to budget around £250 extra. It’s always worth checking with your boutique if they’re included in the price of your gown. It’s made in jasmine silk dupion with a rosebud embroidered tulle overlay, fully corseted bodice and full ruched skirt.  harveyharveyphotography.com CA RO L I NE ’ S TOP T I P S… ❤ Start shopping for your dress around a year before the big day to allow time for decision-making. All my designs are handmade at my boutique and that process tends to take around six months. ❤ Take no more than two people with you. Any more and your own views may get lost in other people’s opinions. ❤ Knowing you’ve found the right gown isn’t always a lightening bolt moment. I can usually tell if a bride feels right in a gown – she stands confidently, won’t want to take it off and the smile says it all. ❤ With my bespoke service there are usually four to five fittings. Measurements are taken at the first then a pattern’s made. The second fitting is a toile, a mock up of the gown made in a cotton calico. Anything can be changed at this stage before we move on to a third fitting, which is in the bride’s chosen fabric. The fourth appointment is usually the final one. ❤ With my service I don’t charge alteration fees as the gown’s made to fit from the start. The only time I have to add on fees is if there’s weight loss once the dress is finished. DRESSING THE BRIDAL PARTY
